Our Story
Welcome to Backdoor Brick Oven, Bowling Green’s newest destination for fire-baked, handcrafted pizza made with passion, precision, and a whole lot of local pride. Conveniently located just behind our sister business, Two Scoops, Backdoor Brick Oven was built from the ground up with community, quality, and creativity in mind.
The idea for Backdoor was sparked when co-owner Courtney discovered a unique rotating stone brick oven that could cook four to five pizzas at once. This innovative piece of equipment became the heart of the business, offering a cooking method unlike anything else in the surrounding area. The oven’s rotating stone ensures even heat distribution and perfectly crisp crusts—bringing something entirely new to pizza lovers in Bowling Green, MO and nearby areas including Hannibal, Troy, and Ralls County.
What sets us apart is more than just our equipment—it’s our commitment to quality and the welcoming atmosphere we’ve created. Backdoor is a good name because it's located in the back of a building, tucked a bit out of sight, but seems like the happening place on a Wednesday night in Bowling Green. Line for the ice cream counter was long but I received quick service from the pizza crew, who were very nice and helpful. You ordered at the counter but they did bring you food out to your table. With an open kitchen everything was in full view as they prepared your food and was clean and very organized. Brick sticks were a cheese stuffed breadstick with a great cheese pull and soft bread. While the sauce did seem underwhelming overall the pizza was good with lots of toppings and cheese. The dinning room is very spacious with the tables not being too close together. Decent little place not too far off the Avenue of the Saints Was worth the stop.
